At DJM Spray Foam Inc we provide spray foam insulation services for the following areas of your commercial or residential premises in the cities of Ajax , Whitby, Oshawa, Pickering, Bowmanville, GTA and Northumberland.

SAFETY FIRST

We manufacture the insulation on site. SPF is created by a chemical reaction, the resulting off gases are toxic, therefore, when having spray foam insulation installed inside your home there’s a few important rules.

1. Occupants , including pets should NOT be inside the home during or for 24 hours after allowing the foam to off-gas. After this period the insulation is %100 safe.

2. The furnace needs to be turned off so as not to circulate fumes through the home. Also fire alarms and CO2 alarms have to be temporarily disarmed.

3. When spraying our team runs high flow fans to force the fumes out of your home.

4. We ask that the work site be clear of your tools, materials and garbage for a safe work environment.

EXTERIOR WALLS

Closed cell SPF is applied in the stud wall cavity to control moisture, air and heat flow. After the installation overspray is trimmed back to accept finishing materials and garbage is swept away.

BASEMENT WALLS

Closed cell SPF is applied directly to the concrete wall to create a high performance insulation that does not

feed mold growth. A safe, clean basement is the result and you can relax in your comfortable space knowing this.

SPF kills mold due to the chemical reaction created by the exothermic heat, sealing all at once.

Frame wood studs at least 1 inch of the wall to provide a R6 continuous insulation behind studs.

When working with metal studs for framing we make sure they are braced correctly with carrying channel as the foam can push them out of square if not careful.

FLAT ROOF CEILINGS

Closed cell SPF is installed from the underside of the flat roof assembly from inside the building. The requirement for this application is usually R31 applied 5 inches thick.

SLOPED CEILINGS

Closed cell SPF is applied directly to the sheathing to create a continuous seal from soffit to the ridge,

old roof vent openings can be blocked off with plywood. It is recommended (when possible) to provide an air circulation to roof decking.

ATTIC UPGRADE

Whats in your attic? all existing attic insulation is removed, all venting is addressed.

2 inches thick application of closed cell SPF is applied down onto the attic floor to create a monolithic R12 insulation and vapor barrier across the entire attic. Afterwards, new fiberglass blown insulation is toped up to R60.

DETACHED GARAGES / QUINSET HUT / POLE BARNS

Heat it with a candle ! SAVE time and money with DJM and closed cell SPF. As an added bonus

this insulation actually increases you buildings structural strength, while providing you with years of performance.

GARAGE CEILINGS

Existing drywall and insulation must be completely removed for this in renovations. R31 closed cell SPF is applied directly to the back of the plywood floor of the room above, including the HVAC and plumbing if present.

Its a great time to spray foam the wall between the house and garage while the crew is onsite, more work equals better rates.

UNDER SLAB IN BASEMENT

Closed cell SPF can be installed below concrete slab for a continuous thermal break and vapor barrier.

As an added benefit, SPF blocks harmful and toxic radon gases from entering your home.

SOUND PROOFING

Open cell SPF is an excellent sound absorber for interior partitions like walls and bsmt ceilings.

Its fast and cost effective with a acoustic attenuation STC rating of 36 at 5 inches thick.

HVAC

Can be insulated with open cell SPF because steel is a vapor barrier. the insulation will never sag or fall off, as it is semi-flexible and also has amazing sound attenuation properties. This insulation will perform for the life of the home, and pest and insects don’t like it.

JOIST POCKETS / RIM-JOIST

Closed cell SPF in these areas is the best place to start because these are usually opened up already.
